Hi Everyone, I’m wondering about external drive sync experiences folks have had. I’m considering using Boxifier/Dropbox to sync(ie backup) my WD MyCloudHome to Dropbox. I currently have a little over a terabyte of data on the MyCloudHome, mostly pictures. I could sync subfolders individually over period of time, which would usually hold 50 - 75 GB each, including multiple levels of subfolders. Most of the folders remain fairly static with little change, with one or two updated more frequently when uploading pictures from my iPhone to the WD MyCloudHome. Is Boxifier up to handling this level of data syncing with Dropbox?
Also, are there naming conventions that must be followed for the directory or file names?
I’ve been using MS OneDrive and Sync up until now, but lately I’ve been running into issues with the use of symbolic folders and limitations on volume that MS Sync can handle, so looking for an alternative solution.
Hello @DaveH
Yes, Boxifier can definitely handle large amounts of data. For instance, we have customers that use it to sync around 20 TB of data with no issues.
Thanks,
Christine from Boxifier
Thanks Christine, that’s very helpful. I’ll be working on setting up Boxifier with Dropbox soon.
Cheers,
Dave
