Boxifier not starting

Just setting up a new PC, and I am getting the ‘Boxifier core is not running’.

Boxifier 1.9.48
Dropbox - V206.4.6506

Any ideas?

Hello,

Thank you for reporting this. Is the new PC running Windows 11?

Do you remember if you installed the Dropbox app from the Dropbox website or from the Windows App Store?

Here to help,
Christine

Hi, yes, brand new laptop with windows 11.

I think I just downloaded the latest Dropbox from the Dropbox site

Thank you for the details. Could you please help me with some additional details?

Do you happen to know if the processor of the new PC is ARM or x64? Here is how you can find out:

  1. Open a command prompt by clicking the Windows Start menu, type cmd and press Enter.
  2. Type echo %PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE% and press Enter.

Another thing to check: if you open the Dropbox folder in Windows Explorer, do you see sync status icons? If so, do you see them to the left of the file/folder name or to the right inside a “Status” column? The reason I ask this is to determine if you are running the normal Dropbox desktop client or the new “Dropbox for Windows update” version of the Dropbox app.

Thanks,
Christine

Hi, the processor is an AMD64

Also, looking at Explorer, the dropbox status shows a status column.

Hope this helps?

Paul
